Ry and I went to Surf camp. Yes I prayed that I would survive the event. Ryan did great. I'm waiting for the photos to come back from the photographer. The break is behind the church. This trip is going to cost me a new surf board for Ryan. He rode 12 waves durning the 2 hours camp. It's like he's been riding for years. I did get up once and did a lot of paddling. Surfing requires a lot of upper body strenght. I was happy that I didn't drown. I was wiped for the rest of the day. Lot's of fun and would recommend it to all that go to Hawaii. The Hawaiian say that surfing is there gift to the world.  Posted by Picasa

Latest lava flow....  Posted by Picasa

Ryan and I walking the latest lava field that Kileua created. This is from the 2003 Lava flow and is part of the current flow that you shown in earilier photos... Posted by Picasa

This is Ry and me at the Sheraton. This is one of my favorite tropical drinks. It's called a Tropical Itch. Best story of the trip: On the way to the Luau, at Royal Kona
Resort, the weather looked bad and it started to lightly sprinkle. We said
this doesn't look good so we decided to go to the Sheraton for Diner. We were over looking the Sheraton's Luau from
the restaurant 30 minutes into their luau I looked up and saw a rain squall
coming there way. It was on the other side of K-bay. Within seconds it was
on the unsuspecting party go'ers. It was tropical rain storms and those
people were drenched. Yes, I felt bad for them but I have to say I was over
whelmed by happiness, that I made a great decision. Not only did I make
that one but I decided to valet at the last minute too. I was on a roll.

This was Diana at the Sheraton having diner while we watched the luau get rained out. Diner was outstanding. Posted by Picasa

No white water at all, just a lazy ride. Diana and Ryan loved it. Ryan said, "He'd love to do it every day". We took lots of pictures with our water proof camera. Those I'll post later.

Here is one of the great sunsets from the Balcony of our Condo.... Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day but the sunset was nice. We tried to look at the sun everyday, hoping to see the mythical green flash. Never saw it. Posted by Picasa

Here's Ryan and I at Black Sands Beach. This is where we saw the turtles sunning on the beach. Funny story: There are signs all over the beach saying stay 15 feet away from sunning turtles. Anyway, I walked past the turtles and didn't see them. The truth of the matter is I probably was so close to the turtles I could have riden one. They were un phased by me being near them. Thank goodness.... Posted by Picasa

This is where we stayed during the 9 days we were in Kona. We had a great view of the Kona Country club golf course, the beach and some great sun sets.....  Posted by Picasa

Ryan made some friends on the trip and it appears that he's looking for his first beer. NOT!! He's doing the Shaka sign. Ryan said that he had a great time. Posted by Picasa

Here I am on the same trip....  Posted by Picasa

Here Diana is hamming it up for the camera on our snorkling trip..... We went on two trips this time. Had a great time on both. First trip is at the Captain Cook Monument. That's the location of Cook's death. Interesting story about how he discovered the Big Island and how only by sheer luck and timing he wasn't kill the first time he pulled into the harbor. Look it up on the internet sometime. Posted by Picasa

This is Rainbow Falls just outside Hilo Hawaii. We hadn't seen this fall before. So we thought we'd drop by and see what it's all about. Very cool..... Posted by Picasa

This was in the Kiluea National Park. On the way to the lava flow we encountered some pretty stronge wind. By the way this is the most active volcano in the world. We stayed the night at the Kileua Military Camp. The Volcano is 100 miles from Kona.  Posted by Picasa

These are green sea turtles on Black Sand beach. Note the color of the Sand. Turtles are very scared animals in the Hawaiian culture. We saw turtles almost every time we wer in the water. However, this was the best look at the majestic creatures. Posted by Picasa

These are pictures from our recent trip to Kona Hawaii. This picture was taken at the Royal Kona Coffee Farm, in the mountains about Kona. Diana and Ryan are standing in a Lava tube.  Posted by Picasa
